About Matt Kazmierczak
Matt Kazmierczak is a former Republican campaign strategist who left the party when he became disenchanted with the direction of the party, especially on the issue of robust, inclusive, and fully-funded public education.
Matt started his political career out of college when he joined John McCain for President 2000 campaign in 1999. After moving back to his hometown of Oakland NJ he soon ran for Council and was elected as the youngest official in NJ at the time. He also ran a successful political consulting and marketing business before joining the State government as Chief of Staff for a State Legislator. Matt also served numerous roles on congressional, legislative, county, and statewide elections including political director and campaign manager. Matt has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
Matt has always been a strong advocate of public education and the impact it has on American society. That was only solidified when he saw the impact his local school district had on his youngest son who was diagnosed with autism. The district provided therapy and an individualized education plan that completely changed his son’s life.
“This experience provided an overwhelming perspective for me on how local school districts in states where resources are prioritized will affect our whole community for future generations.”
Matt started to realize the Republican Party he worked so hard for and believed in had changed and no longer had room for people like him who believe in a robust active public education system as well as diversity, inclusion, and compassion.
Now the battle line between these basic values is being waged at a level that was meant to be nonpartisan - our school boards. And if we don’t fight back in 2023 our public education system as we know it may be gone.
